Draft — needs legal review
This is not a privacy policy. It is not in effect, and it is not legal advice. A lawyer needs to write and review it before launch.
This page is not a privacy policy. It describes what the waitlist stores today and what a real policy will have to cover before Yardly launches. It does not create privacy rights, and it is not a substitute for legal review.
What the waitlist stores now
- Email address
- ZIP code
- Whether you need yard work or do yard work
- Services you checked, if you join as a provider
- The time you signed up, and the time that row was last updated
We use that information to email you when Yardly opens near that ZIP and to count signups by ZIP. We don't sell the list. The database is hosted by Supabase. This site does not ask for your street address, photos, or a payment card.
What a future policy must cover
When job posting exists, the app will collect a home address, exact map coordinates, and a lawn outline. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, precise geolocation can be sensitive personal information. Before launch, a lawyer needs to review a policy that says:
- Why that location data is collected
- Who can see it — the plan is the customer, and a provider only after they accept and payment succeeds
- That a map provider would process coordinates to draw the map
- That a payment processor would handle cards, not this app's database
- How long each kind of data is kept
- How someone can ask for access or deletion, and what tax or payment records may have to be kept
Those requests are not available on this site, because that product is not built and this text is not a policy.
